Sketch studio

Sketch with a mouse, finger or stylus and watch it become a proper engineering drawing: strokes straighten into members and lines, snap to the grid, to joints and to standard angles, rectangles and circles are recognised, and the result is dimensioned and framed with a title block. In Structure mode add supports and loads and the frame is analysed as you draw; open it in the Frame studio for the full analysis. Export to SVG, PNG, PDF or DXF for CAD.

✎ SketchOne steady stroke per line. Join strokes at a node or onto a member to make a joint. A closed four-sided stroke becomes a rectangle, a round one a circle.
▲ SupportsSketch a small triangle under a node for a pin, a small circle for a roller, or click nodes with the Support tool to cycle pin, roller and fixed.
↓ LoadsWith the Load tool, a stroke ending at a node is a point load in that direction; a stroke alongside a member is a UDL. Click a load to change its value.
⇪ ExportSVG and PNG for reports, an A3 PDF, a DXF in millimetres for AutoCAD or BricsCAD, or open the frame in the Frame & beam studio.

From a hand sketch to a dimensioned drawing

Draw lines, circles and shapes freehand; strokes are recognised and snapped to the grid, triangles become pin supports and small circles become rollers. Add loads and the frame is analysed live with its bending moment diagram, then exported as DXF, PDF, SVG or PNG.
