Frame & beam studio

Shear force, bending moment, axial force and deflection for beams, cantilevers, continuous and Gerber beams, inclined members, portal and pitched frames, multi-bay and multi-storey frames, three-hinged frames and pin-jointed trusses — with influence lines by a travelling unit load and moving-load envelopes for trucks and lane loads.

Linear elastic, first-order analysis by the direct stiffness method (no P-δ, no buckling). Check stability, second-order effects and member capacities separately to the relevant standard.

Frame and beam analysis in the browser

Model beams, continuous beams, inclined members, portal frames and trusses with pins, rollers, fixed supports, springs and internal hinges. Loads can be point loads, couples and full or partial trapezoidal UDLs in global or local directions, grouped into permanent, imposed, wind and snow cases and AS/NZS 1170.0 combinations.

The studio draws the shear force (SFD), bending moment (BMD), axial force and deflected shape, lists reactions with an equilibrium check, and computes influence lines and moving-load envelopes for vehicles such as M1600 and HS20.
