Method, formulas and assumptions
- Wall analysis as in the Sheet pile tool: Rankine pressures, Kp/1.5, embedment × 1.2
- Z ≥ M*/(φ fy), φ = 0.9, M* = 1.35 × Mmax
- Tie: As ≥ T*/(φ fy) on the threaded (stress) area ≈ 0.78 Ag, plus corrosion on the diameter
- Waling: two back-to-back channels, continuous over ties, M = T·s²/10
- Deadman (continuous, near the surface): Pp − Pa = ½γh²(Kp − Ka), FS ≥ 2; place it beyond H·tan(45 − φ/2) + h·tan(45 + φ/2) so the wedges do not overlap (Teng)
- Choose a sheet profile from the supplier's tables with elastic Z ≥ the required value; check driveability and corrosion life
