Worked example — results
| Result | Value | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Hwe = k Hw | 2,400 | mm |
| ea = Hwe²/(2500 tw) | 11.52 | mm |
| e used (≥ 0.05 tw) | 15.00 | mm |
| φNu = 0.65 (tw − 1.2e − 2ea) 0.6 f′c | 1,984 | kN/m |
| Slenderness Hwe/tw | 12.00 |
- ✓ N* ≤ φNu
- ✓ Hwe/tw ≤ 30 (simplified method limit)
Method, formulas and assumptions
- Hwe = k Hw = 0.75*3.2*1000 = 2400 mm
- ea = Hwe²/(2500 tw) = 2400^2/(2500*200) = 11.52 mm
- e used (≥ 0.05 tw) = MAX(15,0.05*200) = 15 mm
- φNu = 0.65 (tw − 1.2e − 2ea) 0.6 f′c = 0.65*(200-1.2*15-2*11.52)*0.6*32 = 1983.8 kN/m
- Slenderness Hwe/tw = 2400/200 = 12
